DESCRIPTION:
Available for your consideration is a chic and authentic Hermes Vintage Astres et Soleils (“Stars and Suns”) Silk Scarf.  From Hermes’ Spring/Summer 1994 Collection, the scarf was designed by artist, Annie Faivre.  The motif, as described by Hermes, is as follows
: “Maya and Aztec:  two great civilizations that radiated complexity.  According to their cosmologies, the Earth lay between thirteen heavens and nine gods, was ruled by the four children of the original creator couple, and evolved to the rhythms of three calendars.  All this intricacy inspired a level of craftsmanship that brough joy to the soul of the great Albert Durer in Brussels, in 1520, and that still satisfies our more modest esthetic sense.”
The scarf measures approximately 36” x 36”.  It is in lovely, previously worn, vintage condition.  The fabric has no discernible stains.  The edges have light wear such as the beginnings of runs made by a needle when the edges were hand-sewn.
