    Are these trays safe to use for vermicomposting over long periods of time? Is there a risk of plastic chemicals leaking into the vermiculture?

    The Mega Heavy Duty 1020 Trays are made of recycle code #6 Polystyrene and are listed as being BPA free, however, using them over long periods of time in warmer temperatures could see some leaching due to the materials that they are made of and the overall condition of the trays. We would suggest using some of the different Garland Trays for vermicomposting as they are made of recycle code #5 Polypropylene and  should not experience any chemical leaching.
